Proper operating procedures for Hard drive detection
Step 1: Power on the Hard drive (by using the enclosed power adaptor or available 4 pin power supply connector from the PC). Make sure the Hard drive platter spins up, wait for 10 seconds to let it spin at a constant rate.
Step 2: Connect ADT-UPS001 to the Hard drive (use extended IDE or SATA connector cable if necessary).
Step 3: Connect Type A USB connector to PC and Mini USB 2.0 connector to ADT-UPS001. Verify the light status, make sure power light is on (PW).
Users have to follow step 1 to step 3. Make sure Step3 is final one. If you donâ£á¢ât follow the procedures, you will fail to make USB2.0 connector work.
The OS should now detect the newly connected devices, additional drive letter(s) will show up (unless the HDD needs to be partitioned for the very first time). |
